Maria grew up in Valladolid, Spain. She completed her B.S. at Universidad de Valladolid in 2020. While there, Maria worked under the guidance of Prof. Asuncion Barbero on the synthesis of heterocycles using organosilanes. After that, she obtained her M.S. from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM), where she was a part of Prof. Antonio Urbano‘s laboratory.

Maria now is a member of the Prof. Mariola Tortosa group at UAM. She is currently focused on the photochemical cleavage of carbon-nitrogen bonds. As part of her PhD, she joined the Brown group as a visitor scholar working on photochemical strain-release cycloaddition.

In Maria’s free time, she enjoys running, traveling, and cooking.
