Souvik2021

January 2021

I am Souvik. I am from Tamluk, west Bengal in INDIA. I did my bachelors with Chemistry as the major from Midnapore College (Autonomous). I have completed my MS from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. During my masters, I did research on transition metal catalyzed C-H activation reactions under the supervision of Dr. Chandra M.R. Volla. I really enjoy my free time playing Cricket and watching football matches, particularly I am very much passionate about indian football. And I also like to gossip with friends in common tea stalls. I love to eat. My favorite Indian dish is “Chicken Biryani”.

Suman

December 2022

I am Suman, from Ghatal, West Bengal in India. I completed my BS in Chemistry from Midnapore College (Autonomous). I received my MS from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. During my masters, I worked on Catalytic Asymmetric synthesis, under the supervision of Prof. Subhas C. Pan.

In the Brown lab, I am working on the transition metal catalyzed difunctionalization of alkenes.

In my free time I like to listen music and I love cooking. My favorite hobby is to travel to new places.

Partha

December 2022

Partha grew up in Kharagpur, India. He completed his undergraduate studies at Midnapore College, where he majored in Chemistry. Following his BS, he finished his Master’s in Chemistry at IIT Bombay and conducted his thesis under Prof. Debabrata Maiti in the field of “Non-directed C-H functionalization.”

He joined the Brown lab in December 2022 and is working on“Developing new Directing groups for C-H functionalization.”

He enjoys reading, playing Cricket, and watching shows in his free time.
